Lord,
I pray for all those who are struggling today. For those who have lost loved ones close to the holidays. For those who will be celebrating their first holiday without the ones they love. I pray for an extra special feeling of love and comfort only You can provide for them. Be with them during these hard times. Give them the feeling You’re wrapping them in a hug. Please also give me the words to comfort them if I meet them.
I pray for those who have a family but are estranged from them. I pray You work in all hearts to bring forgiveness and healing. Restore families, Lord. Have them come to know You or grow deeper in You during this process.
I pray for those who struggle meeting with family today. No matter what the circumstances may be I pray for comfort and love, as well as softening of hearts. Let this year be a year of restoration in family and friends.
I pray for those who have no family. I can’t imagine what these holidays are like. Pull them in close to You. Give them the sense of Your abounding love. Let them feel it! Give them peace and please give them a hug from me as well.
I pray for those who are homeless. Lord, my heart breaks for them. It may not be a physical home, but let them know that You give them a home in You. I pray for them. I pray You comfort them all. Lord, so many are homeless for a variety of reasons. You know why and it grieves You. Reach out to them in the way only You can.
I pray for those who have addictions; help them break free. I pray for those who suffer mentally; heal them, Father! I pray for those who have physical issues; heal them or help them overcome it. I pray for the prodigals; help them find their way home, both physically and spiritually.
Lord, I thank you for all the volunteers during this time, whether they give their time, supplies, or money. I thank you for the donations people give. I thank you for those who volunteer their time. Time and money are some of the hardest things to donate. Thank you for all those wonderful people out there. And Lord, show us all the best way we can donate and enlighten us to the area that is hardest for us so we can work on it.
Let us all remember the blessings we have. Let the poor see the blessings no matter how small they are and give thanks to You. Let the rich see the blessings, give thanks, and ask how they can share it. So many of us are richer than we know. Thank you for the blessings I have, even in amongst the struggles.
My last request is to please tell everyone, especially the ones who need it the most, there are prayers and love being sent their way. They are not far from minds and hearts.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
